857 TEAM LEADER TRAINING SUPERVISOR AREA V


QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or GED

  2. Ability to follow verbal instructions

  3. Ability  to communicate effectively to others

  4. Current Commercial Driver’s License and bus  

  5. driver certification

  6. Negative mandatory OTEA test           

  7. Physically fit to pass annual physical and 

  8. and operate school bus

  9. Certified “Train The Trainer” Certificate

  10. Proven knowledge of functioning components utilized in Pupil Transportation operations.

REPORTS TO:        ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION

JOB GOALS:

  1. To oversee and help maintain the staff training program.

  2. Maintain qualified trained driving/monitor staff.

  3. Assist director in accomplishing department goals.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Noncontractual (At-will); Manual/Trades  Paygrade: 4; Estimated  226 days;   estimated 8 hours  daily Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Displays initiative that will lead toward accomplishments of department  and district goals

Displays and initiates support programs and actions that reflect a positive caring climate for the department.

Accepts responsibility for ensuring that all route reports, rider records, etc., are turned in and properly filed.

Maintains appropriate safety standards for staff

  1.  

Assists in recruitment of adequate driving, monitoring staff

  1.  

Maintains required training records and student records

  1.  

Communicates needs assessments to Director of Transportation

  1.  

Instructs and supervises all training for driving, monitoring staff

  1.  

Routing/Scheduling Supervisor

  1.  

Coordinates training with Routing/Scheduling Supervisor for safety re-training

  1.  

Monitor and evaluate employee performance

  1.  

Demonstrate a clear-cut sense of direction and expectations for staff performance

  1.  

Assists in recruitment, orienting new staff; making sound recommendations  relative to personnel placement, transfer, retention,

and when justified, dismissal.

Complies with district policies, and other laws and regulations

Assists in scheduling drivers and buses for extra-circular trips

Acts as a substitute bus driver when required

Rides and monitors bus routes as needed for “trouble-shooting”

Two-way radio, typewriter, computer, bus and special bus equipment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands:  Reading; ability to perform basic arithmetic; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:  Must possess good physical dexterity and have the ability to perform manual tasks and body movement including lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, walking, and standing.  works outside and inside; exposure to hot and cold temperatures; slippery and uneven walking surfaces and in district travel.  Continued sitting, reaching, and repetitive hand and arm motions.  Ability to operate motor vehicle.  Exposure to vehicle fumes.
