827 A Audio Visual Technician


QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. High school diploma or GED 

  2. Knowledge of basic electronics.

  3. Knowledge of overhead projector, TV and VCR repairs.

  4. Ability to diagnose and perform repairs.

  5. Ability to work independently.

  6. One year or more work experience repairing audio/visual devices.

REPORTS TO:        Systems Engineer

 

JOB GOALS:

Perform repairs to audio/visual equipment. Maintain a parts inventory.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Noncontractual (At-will); Manual/Trades Paygrade: 2; Estimated 226 days; estimated 8 hours dailyWage/Hour Status: Nonexempt


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  1.  

Diagnose and repair audio/visual equipment. Included but not limited to TVs, VCRs, Overhead projectors, and thermal devices.

Maintain an adequate parts inventory for repairs.

  1.  

Locate specific parts and /or part numbers; provide ordering information.

  1.  

Perform preventative maintenance on audio/visual equipment during  summer break.

  1.  

Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs.

  1.  

Operate tools and equipment to prescribed safety procedures.

  1.  

Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, carrying, etc.

  1.  

Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to the supervisory immediately.

  1.  

Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the conduct of district business and demonstrates team work in daily activities.

  1.  

Is prompt and timely in completing daily task.

  1.  

Meets attendance standards and complies with notification procedures for absences.

 

Equipment Used: Hand tools, soldering iron and test instruments for electronic repairs. 

Working Conditions: Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Climbing, stooping, bending, and kneeling; frequent use of small hand tools, soldering iron and electronic test equipment. Ability to lift heavy objects up to 75 pounds.
