825 PARKING LOT & HALL MONITORS, HIGH SCHOOL


QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or GED

  2. Demonstrate interest in and aptitude for work to be performed

  3. Desire and ability to work with students, parent, faculty, and staff

  4. Willingness to work occasional overtime

REPORTS TO:        ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

JOB GOALS:

  1. Provide for the safety of the students, faculty, and staff

  2. Assist in implementing procedures that will ensure the protection of the campus personnel and property


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Noncontractual (At-will); Manual/Trades  Paygrade: 2;Estimated  187  days;   estimated 8 hours  dailyWage/Hour Status: Nonexempt


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES


1.    

Check parking permits on cars as they enter parking lot.

2.    

Monitor parking lot by driving through frequently.

3.    

Keep lot gates closed.

4.    

Check spaces daily to assure vehicles are in proper space.

5.    

Check permits each time a vehicle leaves campus.

6.    

Assist visitors as they enter the campus.

7.    

Keep students from loitering in parking lot.

8.    

Direct traffic in assigned lot.

9.    

Monitor assigned area as described by daily schedule.

10. 

Routinely report vacant spaces to bookkeeper.

11. 

Maintains proper condition of parking lot carts.

12. 

Wears proper parking attendant uniform.

13. 

Monitors assigned restrooms as described by daily schedule.

14. 

Assures restrooms are clean.

15. 

Keeps paper dispensers supplied.

16. 

Keeps students from loitering in restrooms.

17. 

Monitors campus on staff development days.

18. 

Helps with jammed and problem lockers during the day.

19. 

Checks permits of students who are out on campus during class time.

20. 

Reports discipline problems to the grade level principal.

21. 

Reports maintenance and cleaning problems to supervisor.

        22.

Complies with directions and instructions from supervisor and performs other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned.

        23.

Maintains positive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and others in the conduct of district business and demonstrates team work in daily activities.

       24.

Is prompt, timely, and thorough in completing assignments and attending to details accurately and efficiently.

       25.

Meets attendance standards and complies with notification procedures for absences.

       26.

Provides complete and accurate information in the conduct of district business.

       27.

Maintains confidentiality in the conduct of district business.

       28.

Complies with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.

 

 

EQUIPMENT USED:

Ability to use security equipment and drive a golf cart.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands:  Reading; ability to perform basic arithmetic; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Strenuous walking, standing, and/or climbing; ability to assist in controlling sudden violent or extreme physical acts of others and exhibit rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously.  May be subjected to adverse and hazardous working conditions.  Work outdoors in varying climate conditions.
