News Release Tyler ISD Foundation Names First Life Loyal Member
Dr. Jack Davidson, former superintendent of Tyler Independent School District, received the charter membership as a Life Loyal Member to the Tyler ISD Foundation Board of Directors. Davidson was selected by a unanimous vote of the Tyler ISD Foundation Board in recognition for his life-long dedication to the foundation and its education efforts. By this action, the Board provides Dr. Davidson with lifetime membership as an active board director.
“Dr. Davidson’s commitment to the students and teachers in our community’s public schools is admired and appreciated by all of us at Tyler Independent School District,” commented Tyler ISD Superintendent David Simmons. “We value his wisdom and continued involvement in the foundation.”
Davidson served as superintendent when the Tyler ISD Foundation was created in 1990. Over the years, the Foundation has awarded more than half a million dollars in grants to the school district, according to Larry Goddard, Executive Director of the Foundation.
