TISD First Day Numbers Are Up

            First day enrollment numbers for Tyler ISD indicate an increase in enrollment compared to first day numbers last school year.  Overall, student enrollment at a majority of campuses is on the increase.  Total enrollment for the 2006-2007 school has started with 17,149 students compared to 17,000 on the first day in 2005. 

            “Issues to consider for the shift in enrollment this year is that some of the bilingual and Head Start programs have returned to their neighborhood campuses because there’s now space available,” said Superintendent David Simmons.

            Parents continue to register students at the school campuses, with some registrations taking place after Labor Day.
