TISD Alumnus Mixes Passion and Profession for

Carter BloodCare

Tyler, TX - Rob Karlovetz, who will attend this weekend’s 10-year-reunion with Robert E. Lee High School classmates, doesn’t consider himself a hero, but a regular guy who gives blood often.  Karlovetz started giving blood in high school and has continued that practice through the years.

After going to work for a design agency, The Propel Group, his passion for blood donation came full circle with his work when he was asked to design new branding for Carter BloodCare buses – also referred to as mobile collection units. His picture is even featured on the side of one of the buses.  He calls the bus wraps ‘revolutionary’ in the way they bring the important message of need for blood donation to the community.

To encourage his former classmates and his hometown to give blood, he has organized a blood drive to coincide with his 10-year class reunion.  The Robert E. Lee Class of ’99 Blood Drive will be held Saturday, August 8th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Bergfeld Park in Tyler.  There will be free T-shirts and pizza for all donors.
