News Release TISD Named in the Top 50 Districts for Keeping Students Safe The Tyler Independent School District has been named in the top 50 national ranking of school districts, indicating which districts keep students safest when searching on the Internet. Tyler ISD had 1 million safe searches for the 2007-2008 school year. “We are always trying to place technology into the hands of our teachers and students that is easy to use and a makes a positive impact on instruction,” said John Orbaugh, Director of Technology Services for Tyler ISD. “I think this award shows that we hit a home run with this program.” The Technology Services department will be recognized for this accomplishment at the regular school board meeting on Thursday, June 18, 2009, at 7:00 p.m. at the Plyler Instructional Complex located at 807 West Glenwood, in Tyler.
