TISD Students’ Artwork Among the Outstanding Chosen

 

            The artwork of four students from John Tyler and Robert E. Lee high schools were chosen as the most outstanding entries by the Tyler Museum of Art (TMA), of the museum’s Fifth Annual High School Art Exhibition, these students’ artworks were among the only five winning entries in the exhibition and each received a “Merit of Honor” award. 

 

Senior-level students from area high schools had works selected by their art instructors for the exhibition, which was judged by a panel of jurors appointed by the TMA curatorial staff from college art departments in the region.

 

 “Taken as a whole this exhibition is a testimony to the exemplary art education offered at respective high schools,” according to representatives from the TMA.

 

All the participants received a one-year student membership to the Tyler Museum of Art and a certificate of participation. 

 

The exhibit is available for viewing through April 11, 2009 at the Tyler Museum of Art located at 1300 S. Mahon Avenue, in Tyler.
