TISD Students Explore Career Options

It’s that question high school juniors begin to ask, “What will I do when I graduate?”  Students have an opportunity to explore careers by hearing advice from local experts.  On Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at 9:30 a.m.  the Robert E. Lee High School Career Center, located at 411 ESE Loop 323, in Tyler, will host a demonstration of how students have a new way to explore options.

Effective communication with students and parents has been implemented through a Tyler ISD Foundation grant this spring.  The grant is entitled, “Guidance, Counseling, College and Careers—Info To Go!”

Through the use of video technology and photography, the Guidance and Counseling Department at Robert E. Lee has kept parents and students better informed on a more personal level by providing departmental announcements, interviews with college admission professionals, and interviews and advice from community members who work in various fields.

As part of the Tyler ISD Foundation’s teacher grant program, this grant is a Named Grant  in honor of Bonnie Beall.  Celia Tucker, Robert E. Lee High School counselor, was the recipient of the grant.
