News Release TISD Students Test Future Transportation With the high price of gasoline, Tyler ISD students are looking into other modes of transportation and alternate energies. The Construction Technology students in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Pilot Program (MYP) from Hubbard Middle School are building and modifying solar cars. Students will be test and analyze the solar cars Tuesday, May 20 at 9:25 a.m. at Hubbard Middle School located at 1300 Hubbard Drive, in Tyler.
Each student builds a solar car, then gets a chance to modify it to his/her own preference. They will participate in a race and also an experiment with his/her car.
The students are also researching alternative energies and will be presenting their findings in class this week.
As part of the Tyler ISD Foundation’s teacher grant program, this grant is a Named Grant Funded by East Texas Professional Credit Union.
