News Release “Black Pearls” Inform and Inspire TISD Students Young Audiences of Northeast Texas is bringing Second Generation Dance Company to Tyler ISD on Thursday, May 22 and Friday, May 23 to perform “Black Pearls” for the students of Boulter, Dogan, Hubbard and Stewart middle schools. “Black Pearls”, the story of strong African women from ancient times to modern day as reflected through dance, reminds us all that we can reach for the stars and succeed. From Queen Nzinga in her role as the liberator of Angola, to Harriet Tubman – nurse, spy for the Union Army, leader in the Underground Railroad – to memories of Grandma, this performance will inform and inspire.
Second Generation Dance of Houston, Texas is a professional contemporary dance company that is dedicated to exploring the culture, heritage, and experiences of people of diverse cultures.
