New Jones Elementary Principal Named

Tyler ISD is pleased to announce Patricia Lewis as the new principal for Jones MST Elementary School.  Lewis has 13 years of education experience.  She currently serves as assistant principal at Bell Elementary Global Communications Academy. 

            “Jones Elementary is a school that strives for academic excellence while also maintaining close community ties and a family-like atmosphere on campus,” said Darlene Marshall, Director of Elementary Education.  “Mrs. Lewis is the perfect match to continue building relationships while also leading the staff to new levels of success.  I have full confidence in her ability to do a great job as principal.”

Lewis earned her Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Tyler, and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of Texas at Tyler. 

The TISD Board of Trustees approved Lewis’ hiring at its May 15 meeting.  Lewis takes over the principal position July 1, 2008.
