News Release TISD Student Receives Congressional Appointment Robert E. Lee High School senior, Sarah Pritchard has received an appointment to attend the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. Pritchard will report to the Academy in July for Induction Day.
“Sarah is an intelligent, self assured intuitive young lady. She has a passion for learning that will serve her well at the United States Naval Academy,” said George Ann Reed, counselor at Robert E. Lee High School. “We are proud that she has been honored with this appointment.”
A nomination from a Congressman, Senator or the Vice President of the United States is required in order to receive an appointment. Pritchard applied to the office of Senator John Coryn for a nomination. Senator Coryn’s office officially notified the Naval Academy that Pritchard was a nominee in January.
