Tylerite Named East Texas Council of Government’s Regional Citizen of the Year

 

      Larry Goddard, Executive Director of the Tyler Independent School District Foundation, was named Regional Citizen of the Year at the 76th Semi-Annual Board of Directors Meeting of the East Texas Council of Governments, Thursday, March 20th held at the Jeffersonian Institute in Jefferson, Texas.
 

     Goddard, who was nominated by the administrative leadership team of Tyler ISD, has been employed for the past two years by the Tyler ISD Foundation. The non-profit organization raises private funds in support of the public school district in Tyler, according to Angela Jenkins, Director of Communications/Public Relations for Tyler ISD.
 

     The Foundation has raised an increase of 133% of contributions from last year’s annual fund campaign and almost 10 times the amount prior to Goddard’s employment. 

     Goddard is involved in the Sister Cities of Tyler, Inc., Rotary International, First Baptist Church, Texas A&M University-Commerce alumni board of directors, and the City of Tyler Industrial Development committee.  Goddard and his family live in Tyler.
