TISD and UT Tyler Team Up For TAKS

Dr. Bryan C. Jack Elementary School Patriots are teaming up with the University of Texas at Tyler Patriots to get ready for game (test) day.  On Monday, March 3, 2008, at 8:45 a.m., the UTT Patriot Cheerleaders and Basketball players will be at Jack Elementary School located at 1900 Balsom Gap, in Tyler, to encourage the young Patriots to do their best with an Academic Pep Rally.

The game plans have been reviewed, skills have been perfected, and the Jack Elementary students are ready to win the championship! Their heads will be in the game on Wednesday, March 5 when third and fifth grade students take the Reading TAKS and 4^th grade students take the Writing TAKS test. 

Previously, the school had “Spirit Week” to motivate and encourage students to do their best on the TAKS test. Tuesday was Team Up for TAKS, students wore their favorite team jersey; Wednesday was Stay on Track with TAKS, students wore their fastest pair of running shoes; Thursday was Don’t Sweat the TAKS, students wore their favorite sweat shirt; and Friday was Get Your Head in the Game where students wore their favorite hat to school.
