Nickelodeon Star Joins Scholarship Fund for ‘Road Show’ In Tyler Thursday
Nickelodeon star Lil’ JJ is joining the Hazel Harvey Peace Scholarship Fund Education Awareness Tour ( EAT ) in Tyler, Thursday, January 31 as part of a statewide tour encouraging, motivating and stressing the importance of education.
Lil' JJ, a comedian and actor in the hit Nickelodeon show – Just Jordan - is part of the effort to raise awareness and money to help send students from low-income families to college. Born James Lewis, Lil’ JJ grew up in Little Rock , Ark. where he was always told jokes and became known as the class clown In 2003, he won ‘Comin’ to the Stage’ comedy competition on BET.
During the Education Awareness Tour, Lil’ JJ will share stories about his educational experience and participation in extracurricular activities. The tour in Tyler is scheduled to make two stops:
9:00 a.m., Robert E. Lee High School, 411 ESE Loop 323, Tyler, TX.; 10:00 a.m., Stewart Middle School , 2800 W. Shaw, Tyler
The scholarship fund is named after Hazel Harvey Peace, the legendary Fort Worth educator who taught for 49 years and is best known for her advice to students, "Start early and quit late." |
