News Release Tyler ISD Granted Appeal by TEA The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has ruled on an appeal of the Tyler Independent School District regarding the unacceptable rating of Griffin Elementary School.
TEA notified the district that it has granted the appeal to change the campus rating for Griffin Elementary from academically unacceptable to academically acceptable. Originally rated unacceptable based on a clerical error, Griffin Elementary resubmitted to TEA officials documentation of a corrected student coding error. Because the academic unacceptable rating did not reflect the student performance of Griffin Elementary, TISD administration requested an appeal.
“We are very pleased that TEA granted out appeal to reflect our true student performance,” said Griffin Elementary Principal Cynthia Howland. “We are going to move forward with making even greater accomplishments this year.”
