International Organization Recognizes

TISD Financial Reporting

            Congratulations to the Tyler Independent School District for winning the Association of School Business Officials International’s (ASBO) Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting Program (COE).  This award is given to the district for excellence in the preparation and issuance of the 2006 school system’s fiscal year report by providing a high-quality Comprehensive Annual Fiscal Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year end 2006.  This is the fourth consecutive year that Tyler ISD has been awarded this Certificate of Excellence.

            “We are pleased that once again we have received this special recognition,” said Tosha Bjork, Director of Financial Services for Tyler ISD.  “This certificate strengthens our presentations for bond issuance statements, and provides an opportunity for the financial office staff members to receive recognition for their hard work.”

            The Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting Program was designed by ASBO International to enable school business officials to achieve a high standard of financial reporting.  The award, the highest recognition for school financial operations offered by ASBO, is only given to school systems that have met or exceeded the standards of the program.

            By preparing and presenting a comprehensive annual financial report, Tyler ISD validated the credibility of the school system’s operations, measured the integrity and technical competence of the business staff, and provided professional recognition ton this department.
