TISD Interim Superintendent Decides to

Return to Retirement

            Tyler ISD Interim Superintendent, Gary Mooring, has decided for personal, family-related reasons to resign as an employee of the school district. 

            “I could never express to the Board of Trustees, the staff, and the community how much I have appreciated the support and friendship they have shared with me as part of Tyler ISD,” said Mooring.  “This has not been an easy decision especially since I have met Dr. Reid who I feel is a great choice for TISD, and I know I would have enjoyed working with him.”

Mooring has held the Interim Superintendent position with Tyler ISD since January 2007, and previously held the Deputy Superintendent position. 

Tyler ISD Board of Trustees will consider accepting Mooring’s resignation at the May 17 regular scheduled board meeting.  His contract with Tyler ISD ends June 30, 2007, but a final date with the district has not been decided.
