Hubbard Middle School Closes Due to Power Outage Hubbard Middle School will close today at 10:00 a.m. due to a power outage. Students will be held in classrooms until they are released to a parent.
We ask parents to come into the school to sign out their child and bring proper identification for safety and security reasons. Parents of eighth graders will report to the library, parents of seventh graders will report to the art room, and parents of sixth graders will report to the front foyer. Bus service cannot be provided for this early release because Tyler ISD cannot effectively notify parents and will not drop off students at homes where parents are not present.
The school does not have phone service or an intercom system during this power outage so students will be located by staff members through a walkie-talkie system. Please be patient while we locate each child and deliver him/her safely to his/her parents.
If parents are unable to pick up their child during this early release, lunch and supervision will be provided until pick up time. However if it is at all possible, we appreciate parents picking up their child as soon as possible.
All students and staff are safe and secure during this release time.
We anticipate a regular school day tomorrow, Thursday, May 3. Please listen to the local media outlets tomorrow morning in case there is a change.
We appreciate your assistance and cooperation during this time.
