High Schools during Rival Week
Tyler – Student and faculty leaders from Tyler Lee and John Tyler high schools will come together for the inaugural Good Sportsmanship Breakfast the week of the annual varsity football game between the Tyler ISD’s two high schools.
The breakfast will be held at 7:30 a.m., Wednesday November 1, at The Wisenbaker Conference Center within the Trinity Mother Frances Health System. Representatives from each organization at both high schools will be present to foster goodwill and a sense of community. More than 100 students, faculty, administrators and Tyler ISD Board of Trustee members are expected to attend.
The Good Sportsmanship Breakfast is not open to the public.
“We at Tyler ISD are very proud of the character and sportsmanship that all of our students display,” said Tyler ISD Superintendent, David Simmons. “The events surrounding Rival Week give us a chance to fellowship and at the same time show our spirit and support for both campuses.”
Tyler ISD Athletic Director Danny Long added, “This is going to be a great opportunity for the student leaders at both our high schools to set the standard for our community on showing respect for one another – during an exciting week for the city of Tyler.”
