From the Top Performs Thursday

“From the Top”, NPR’s hit radio showcase for America’s best young classical musicians hosted by Christopher O’Riley, will be in Tyler to record a show for national broadcast at Caldwell Auditorium.  The media is invited to the rehearsal performance at 2:15 p.m. on October 12, 2006.  This is the one opportunity for the media to cover the event.

From the Top” is bringing back the day when radio was done live.  It also showcases some of the finest pre-collegiate classical artist in America.  This program is being brought to the area to expose teachers, parents, students and the community to classical music.

“This is an opportunity for our students as well as the community to see a sampling of some of the finest pre-collegiate artists live, said Tyler ISD Director of Fine Arts George Faber.  “TISD has an opportunity to inspire our young musicians in an area some have not considered.”

This special live concert is presented by Young Audiences of Northeast Texas in partnership with the East Texas Symphony, Tyler Independent School District and Tyler Junior College.  The broadcast will be heard on nearly 250 radio stations across the country in December.

We ask you to please use concert etiquette when entering and exiting the auditorium.  The rehearsal is being recorded for broadcast purposes.
