Chair Selected for Tyler ISD Foundation Annual Drive
Gary Howell, President of Hibbs Hallmark and Company, was unanimously selected as the Chair of the Tyler Independent School District Foundation annual fund drive. The campaign, which will begin later this fall, will seek private sector donations in support of the public school system.
“We are fortunate to have a dedicated volunteer in support of the Tyler ISD Foundation and the public schools system,” said Mike Thomas, President of the Tyler ISD Foundation. “This year marks a turning point in the future of the Foundation and we anticipate great results from the volunteer campaign in support of Tyler ISD.”
Howell has served four years as a Director of the Tyler ISD Foundation Board. Howell is also involved in the Smith County Historical Society, Camp Ford Historical Society, Cooperative Teachers Credit Union Board of Directors, and is a former Tyler ISD Board of Trustees member.
“Gary Howell represents the best mix of leadership for the Tyler ISD Foundation. He is a former public school educator and served as Principal at Chapel Hill ISD; he is a former Tyler ISD School Board trustee and now he is a successful businessman,” said Larry Goddard, Executive Director of the Tyler ISD Foundation.
Howell has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Master’s of Arts from the University of North Texas. He is married to Elizabeth Ann Howell, who is employed by State Farm Insurance.
The campaign’s goal will be announced at the Kick Off Luncheon scheduled for November 15th.
