A Summary of the May 6, 2008, Tyler ISD Board of Trustees Meeting

Board Approves High School’s Withdrawal from the IB Program

The Board of Trustees approved the withdrawal of John Tyler High School from the International Baccalaureate (IB) Program.

With Campus Performance Objective Committee (CPOC), teachers, IB junior students, and community members, it was determined that in the best interest of John Tyler, that the campus voluntarily withdrawal from IB, rather than submission of an IB review potentially allowing IB termination. To serve John Tyler with advanced programming, Advanced Studies, with all parties involved, will transition budget funds and efforts to a new program to meet the needs of the advanced students.
